About us
After several years of daily calls, texts, and headaches, my wife’s parents (in their early and mid-nineties) require around-the-clock in-home care to make it through their day. Due to safety concerns, their bed and entire living space was moved downstairs (“single-level living”). The dining room was repurposed and the upstairs — all but abandoned.
The mental pain of being far away, the feeling of helplessness, and the inability to be able to care for those we love, brought my wife and I to the idea of making houses more comfortable so that older adults can age in place, gracefully in their own homes.
So how do you do it? In-home care is popular but doesn’t fully answer the question. Family and friends are a solid, yet either short-term or overwhelming, sometimes thankless, answer.
What’s left? Safe At Homes was born to help those we love with purposeful home modifications and easy-to-use technology to upgrade their quality of life, connectedness, mental and physical health, all by adapting your current home environment. We provide a wrap-around service that cares for the whole person. Safety check-ins, walkthroughs, routine maintenance and preventative services that keep people safe in their own comfort zone.
